About me: I am Kristen, a long-time horse breeder and farmer established in southwest Virginia. One of my favorite parts of being a farmer is placing animals in homes that love them as much as I do. This past spring, I had a friend ask me if I would try consigning some of her horses, as she did not have the time to list them herself. I said yes, and that’s where this consignment story begins! While I have unofficially helped place many horses in the past, this (2025) is my first year at officially consigning. With that being said, you will find that my fees are much less than other consigners as I work to establish myself as a reputable consignment business in the horse market. While I am new to the consignment game, I am certainly not new to horses, the ever-changing horse market, marketing, or social media! Are you a seller? I take the frustrating parts of selling out of the process! Simply put, I am an agent that represents your horse online and over the phone. My consignment services are a flat 5% of the equine’s final sales price (please note that we do not and will not support “fire sales”, as these negatively impact the market as a whole and can potentially attract unsuitable buyers). I will work with you to establish a realistic listing price. An initial consignment/advertisement fee of $100 (per horse) is due upfront, at the start of consignment services – this covers my initial marketing presence including paid sales ads and listing on this website, Equine Now, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Craigslist. This can be paid via Venmo, Zelle, or Meta pay. The remainder is due upon final sale (receipt of funds) of your horse. From the first ad to the transfer of ownership, I will make things as easy as possible for you. If you are within a 2 hour radius of Fincastle, Virginia 24090, I can offer my photo and video services for your horse(s) for sale. These photo and video packages start at $150 (per horse) and all photos are high-resolution and fully edited. Make a strong first impression to your buyer!
